Silk is known to be found in China around 5000 years ago. The first silk cocoon was considered as Bombyx mori, the domesticated silkworm. The first silk fabric was used to wrap a body. From China, the silk production was later spread to Japan, Korea, and India. Silk Road is known as the network of trades route connecting East and West of the world transcontinental network. The wealthy women of the Roman Empire admired the silk beauty, but once, silk clothes were considered decadent and immoral.
Today, silk is known worldwide and due to the mass production of silk fabrics and the lower cost of the silk, although it was still considered as more expensive than most type of fabrics, many people can afford to use silk fabrics as cloths and other uses.
